Ramin Djawadi - Main Title
[AGGRESSIVELY SINGS ALONG]
For whatever reason, my TV played the opening titles more quietly than the rest of the episode the other night. So I turned up the volume a lot for about a minute.
Mars. In true colour.
Just so you know, a lot of images of Mars which you’ll see have been manipulated. A lot of them have boosted contrast and saturation. So if you’ve ever wondered – images like this one are what Mars actually looks like.
Why does this not have more notes?!?
YOU ARE LITERALLY LOOKING THROUGH THE EYES OF A ROBOT ON ANOTHER FUCKING PLANET
If you don’t think that’s the tightest shit, you can get out of my face.
i wanted to reblog this so that everyone who sees it can realize just how amazing this is. you are looking at a photograph taken on an entirely different planet. an entire world that has been completely untouched by humanity until only recently. no human in the history of mankind has ever look at those rocks, the soil, the mountains, and the sky until now. and until we finally manage to set foot there for the very first time, no human has ever seen mars from this perspective with their own two eyes or feel the texture of the martian soil on the bottom of their boots. this was only possible by creating a robot, an actual robot, and shooting way out of the reaches of earth and with extremely careful calculations, have it safely land and deploy right where they want it. it’s a robot on another planet being controlled 225 million kilometers away, seeing and studying and sending information for us.
this is the sort of thing you would see in science fiction movies that are only a few decades old. what was only imagination and possibilities back then is now all in this photograph. im looking forward to see what happens in the coming decades
I still don’t understand the perspective that’s going on here.
It`s a railing.
This fucked with my head so hard.
WAIT I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND
ITS ON TOP OF A WALL NOT GRASS
oh my god it’s the edge of a cement wall jesus christ that fucked me up so bad it took so long for me to understand
I STILL DONT GET IT
this is fucking with my head so much so i just accepted that thing is a squirrel
The cement wall is in line with both the arm and the squirrel. The arm and the squirrel are on the wall, looking down the top of the wall.
THIS POST FUCKED ME UP SO BAD
Oh, jesus, okay, I literally had to block out the arm before my brain could see this properly.
This took me a while, even with all the help. It helps (or hurts) that it’s clearly cold out, and so you expect the grass to be brown, rather than green. This would have made a lot more sense to the eye at first glance if it was taken in summer.
I ALWAYS THOUGHT THE HDR EFFECT WAS HARD BUT IT’S ACTUALLY LIKE A 5 STEP THING BESIDES DUPLICATING AND FLATTENING SHIT HOLY FUCK I CAN DO IT. I’M SO EXCITED WOW THAT’S LOVELY and I have to share because no one every taught me this.
- Open your picture.
- Duplicate layer (Ctrl+J)
- Overlay that shit 50%
- Flatten image (Ctrl+E)
- Duplicate that one layer that you have now (Ctrl+J)
- Desaturate (Shift+Ctrl+U)
- Invert (Ctrl+I)
- Gaussian Blur it to 40
- Now overlay that B&W Blurred image
- Duplicate and sharpen if necessary
- AMAZEMENT WOW HOLY SHIT
MOTHERFUCKER, I’VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THIS FOR HOURS. TAGG(NG THE SHIT OUT OF THIS.
Reblogging to make it easy for me to look up again.
Inspired by THIS
Ok see, I thought maybe I had forgotten who was who and I just kinda rode it that way.
This space suit was first seen in the1966 episode of Doctor Who, entitled The Tenth Planet on Earl Cameron as Glyn Williams. The costume seems to be one in a set of other similar space suits that show up along side it in The Tenth Planet, as well as another episode entitled The Wheel in Space, though the exact same suit does not re-appear in The Wheel in Space.
The exact same costume does, however, appear in the 1980 film Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back on Alan Harris as the Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk. Since filming for Star Wars took place partly in England, it was likely hired out from the same costume house that provided suits to Doctor Who fourteen years earlier. A close inspection of the detailing on the costume reveals them to be the same, though some minor additions have been added for Empire Strikes Back.
